Catherine J. Behling, 78, of Janesville passed away Easter Sunday, March 31, 2013 shortly after arrival at Mercy Hospital & Trauma Center. Catherine was born July 8, 1934 at Burlington, WI, the daughter of Joseph and Elizabeth (Klien) Lackas. She married Eugene Carmin Sr. on April 15, 1956.  They resided in the Delavan area for many years where she and  her husband operated a real estate business and raised their family of four children. Catherine was an active member of the Delavan Lioness Club. Later, she and Eugene owned and operated the Lake DuBay Shores Campground at Mosinee, WI. After they sold that business in 2001, they moved to Janesville. Eugene passed away on September 29, 2005. Catherine married Allan Behling on July 7, 2007. She was a member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church and Women of the Moose Lodge # 377. Catherine’s life centered around her family, especially her grandchildren and she enjoyed traveling with Allan.
Surviving are her husband, Allan Behling, 3 children, Eugene “Gene” (Monica) Carmin Jr. of Wisconsin Dells, WI, Diana Blaedow of Janesville, Michele (Alfonso) Carmin of Auburn, GA, 3 stepchildren, Thomas (Barbara) Behling of Janesville, Rebecca (Drew) McCarriar of Windsor Mill, Maryland, Todd Behling of Cottage Grove, WI, 10 grandchildren, Heather, Kylee, Corey, Jeremy, Zachary, Destiny, Tyler, Codey, John, Kelly, 4 great-grandchildren, Nathan, Justin, Aidan, Ryan, 3 sisters, Rita Redl, Betty Kretchmer and Diane Adamak. In addition to her parents and her first husband, Catherine is preceded in death by 1 son, Tim Carmin, 2 brothers, Charles Lackas, Joe Lackas and 1 sister, Mary Ann Bromeland.
Funeral services will be at 12 Noon Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 1422 Center Avenue, Janesville with Pastor Bruce Gray officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday at the church from 11 a. m. until the time of services. Private burial will be in Roselawn Memory Gardens, Lake Geneva Memorials may be made to Agrace HospiceCare or for Breast Cancer Research. The family is being assisted by Henke-Clarson Funeral Home.
